Who is Angela Garry?
Angela Garry is a serial multi-tasker!
She is Personal Assistant to the Principal at the Nottingham University Samworth Academy - a new independent school in the UK for 11-19 year olds, and was a “Highly Commended” finalist in the 2010 Sec-Ed Headteacher's PA of the Year. In 2011 she was shortlisted for The Times / Hays PA of the Year awards, and has subsequently been invited to present seminars, training sessions and workshops at several conferences both nationally and internationally. On home turf she is the organiser of a series of networking and training events for PAs and senior administrators in the East Midlands. She also provides individual mentoring /coaching for PAs, and is a regular contributor to several PA magazines, one of which she now edits, and has been featured in several lead articles - and has been asked by several companies to review their training programmes for PAs.
Angela is an affirmed networker, being the most connected PA and most connected PA Trainer on business networking site LinkedIn.com, and is Chair of the SSAT's Network for PAs who work in the UK's 1500+ Academies. She is also the UK Regional Chair for the East Midlands for European Management Assistants in the UK, Angela is a Fellow of both the Association of Personal Assistants and Institute of Professional Administrators.
Committed to her own Personal and Professional Development, Angela is nearing the end of her second year of part-time studies for a Masters degree, studying for an MSc in Integrative Psychotherapy and Counselling at the Sherwood Psychotherapy Training Institute in Nottingham.
In spare time, Angela is also a Singer/Songwriter and released two pop singles “Personal” and “Hypnotised” in 2010, along with a third collaborative track "Next Time" in 2011. She recently signed her very first recording contract with the NU-Start Records label.
